Make him play
If you are down match play and running out of holes, force your opponent to hole a short putt.
You are not obliged to give him anything and this attitude shows him you're a fierce competitor, willing to put up a fight.
Before giving your opponent a putt, always look to see if it breaks. If there is a hint of break, make him play.
