Survey the slopes to discover the break

Whenever you are faced with a tricky putt on an undulating green, it is always worth walking the distance between your ball and the hole.

This will give you a feel for the slopes on the green, to understand how fast the ball will roll and in which direction it will break.

Make this part of your pre-shot routine and your natural judgment of pace is guaranteed to improve.
