Golf tips: Putting with Top 25 Coach Andrew Reynolds
1 Technique checks
The first 15 minutes of your 60-minute putting practice should be based purely on technique checks. Specifically, you should practise your stroke, which should be low on the way back to ensure you produce an upward strike and put top-spin on the ball.
You can work on producing a repetitive stroke by placing two tee pegs parallel with your stance and
an equal distance either side of the ball at address. Do not aim for a hole, instead concentrate on consistently producing a good strike. Another important check is to make sure your eyes are over the ball. If they are not, this can seriously effect your alignment and stroke. Check this by taking your stance as normal over a putt and dropping a ball from your nose. If you are in line, you should hit the ball that is waiting at address.
