Golf tips of the week: Putting drills - Varying distances
2 Varying distances
This drill helps you deal with distance control. Pace out a 10ft putt and place a wedge parallel with the direction you intend to hit. Then, pace out a 20ft putt and lie down a long iron, finally place a driver 30ft away (as below). Take six balls, and try to stop two within the length of the driver, two within the length of the long iron and two within the length of the wedge. If you are dedicated enough to attempt the drill until you have completed it you should notice that your long-distance putting will become far more consistent.
