Grip and stance tips for better bunker play

Whenever I face a greenside bunker shot I always shuffle my feet into the sand at address.
This is helpful for two reasons. Firstly, you'll start to gain a feel for how dense the sand is to gage how hard to hit the shot.
Secondly, by shuffling your feet into the sand you'll also gain a firm footing – crucial for a fluid, balanced swing.
The strength of your grip will also have a huge bearing on the quality of your bunker play. You need to find a balance here between a hold that's strong enough to control the club but soft enough to allow a free flowing swing.
At address take care to ensure that you aren't strangling the grip as this will cause a jerky swing that makes it hard to control the distance of the shot.
