Ian Poulter's tips for the chip and run

Poulter shows how to play the chip and run

This is one of the safest shots you can play around the greens as with a shorter swing, your chances of a perfect strike increase.

I hit chip and runs either with a 7 or a 9-iron depending on the length of the shot.

At address, grip down the club more than usual and push your hands ahead of the ball.

These adjustments ensure the ball stays low to the ground before running out.
