A better touch will help your chipping

Top 25 Coach Andrew Reynolds

A sound, instinctive feel for how hard to hit your chips is crucial.

For this, you need soft hands. You can develop a soft touch in practice by using the following drill.

Take your normal grip and then lift the last three fingers of both hands off the club. Now hit some shots.

By removing six fingers from the grip, you'll notice that the club moves fluidly, propelled by its' own momentum.

When you place your hands back into their normal position, remember to keep your grip light and let the swing flow.
