Golf tips of the week: Right amount of sand

Taking the right amount of sand.

The main difference when playing from sand is that you should be aiming to hit the ground before the ball. To illustrate how much sand you should be taking, draw a line around a £20 note and place a ball in the middle of the box. This represents roughly the amount of sand you should be taking through impact. The back end of the box marks the point at which the club should first hit the sand. Concentrate on this line as you practise.
