Understanding the splash shot

Get the angles right for the perfect escape

When playing from a greenside bunker most players like to open their stance and the clubface in search of a high trajectory.

However, it is also crucial that when you do this, you swing the club along the line of your body.

Notice how I've cut across the ball here at impact, sending it towards its' target on a high flight.

Never fall into the trap of opening your stance and then swinging AT the pin.
