Hi Mark, your pitching advice works a treat, but I have discovered a failsafe method to ensure an accurate connection with the ball on a downward path by turning the head to look directly at the back of the ball from the initial set-up and held in that position throughout the full swing. Also, and particularly important to newcomers to this technique is your insisting that the weight is concentrated on the left side, or play direction. You mentioned that rolliing away to the right should be avoided, and to that end I have found that when taking up the stance it helps to maintain it throughout the whole movement if weight transfer is exagerated to the point where it feels almost as if you are about to roll over onto the side of the left shoe, rather than just shifting the weight onto a flat left foot..
Thanks for your advice. It is well communicated and easy to understand. Paul S. West Yorkshire.
