Hole-by-Hole Guide - Hole 5

Monday 31st March 2008

Magnolia
Par 4
455 yards
2007 average score: 4.314
8th most difficult hole in 2007

A classic, tree-lined Augusta hole that shapes towards the left. Innocuous on the card at 455 yards, this requires a careful strategy.

The hole plays uphill, with deep bunkers on the left of the fairway ready to catch any over-ambitious drives. Once you have managed to find the right line in the fairway, finding the perfect distance into the green is crucial as it slopes from front to back.
