Odyssey Golf has introduced the Tank Putter, which is designed for increased stability and maximum forgiveness.

The putter contains weighted components with a calculated balance point for a higher moment of inertia. This helps the putter stay straight through the stroke and on off-centre hits.

The conventional tank putter has a MOI that is 34% higher than a standard putter, while the longer Tank is 109% higher.

Additional weight also helps to promote a pendulum stroke and stops the wrists from breaking down.

These features offer golfers greater stability, a more consistent pendulum stroke and greater control.

The new White Hot Insert also provides consistent sound, feel and performance across the entire face, and the Tour Preferred Balance Point is positioned to promote a counterbalance feel reflective of a conventional putter.

"With Tank, we wanted to enhance the stability of the putter by increasing the moment of inertia of the entire club. We feel this achieves not of the benefits of anchoring without actually touching the body," said Austie Rollinson, Principal Designer, Odyssey Golf.

"At each length Tank is offered, the balance point is in a slightly different place on the shaft to provide the golfer with an optimal counterbalance and stability."

Tank putters, which have an RRP of £139, will be available in standard length options (34" and 36") and slightly longer (38" and 40") from April 12, 2013.

Odyssey led all putter companies with 57 victories across the major professional tours last year.
