FootJoy has announced the unveiling of its specially designed MyJoys shoe for the 150th Open Championship at St Andrews.

The market leading FJ ICON shoe has been transformed into four distinctive designs that will be worn at the Home of Golf by some of the world’s best golfers, and will feature the blue and white colours of Scotland’s national flag in recognition of the tournament’s host.

Lee Westwood, Rory McIlroy, Henrik Stenson and Robert Karlsson are just a few of the high-profile players who will be wearing the design during the opening day’s play.

The MyJoys franchise was created to enable the personalisation of FootJoy’s market-leading golf shoes and has been a great success since its inception and a significant part of FootJoy’s market leading range.

FootJoy designers have specifically designed the MyJoys shoe in four variations of the FJ ICON and the players have chosen their favourite. Westwood has chosen the asymmetric pattern, Ross Fisher will wear the contemporary sport saddle while Stenson and Karlsson both chose the traditional saddle.

Golfers across Europe can join in and design their very own pair via the MyJoys website, myjoys.co.uk, selecting a white base colour with a Blue Croc 450 saddle on any one of the FJ ICON patterns.

The 150th Open Championship gets underway on July 15, 2010.
