Château des Vigiers, near Bergerac, in France,have signed a deal with The Association of Saint- Emilion Grand Crus Classés to present a new Pro-Am tournament, the Saint-Emilion Crus Classés Trophy, to be held on May 31 to June 2, 2013.

The event is designed to bring together the worlds of golf and gastronomy. Throughout the competition weekend participants will also be able to discover some of the best Saint-Emilion Grand Crus Classés wines.

At the prizegiving ceremony and cocktail dinner on June 2 the Association of Saint-Emilion Grands Crus Classés will award the winner of the Stableford competition a custom-made leather case that will hold 18 bottles of their famous wines.  

Four-star Château des Vigiers Golf & Country Club dates from 1597 and is in the Dordogne Périgord region of south west France, half an hour from Bergerac airport and an hour from Bordeaux airport.

All participants, including non-playing partners are given full use of all the facilities at Château des Vigiers including tennis, pool and gym. There will be a companions' excursion on the Saturday to the historic town of Saint-Emilion including a picnic, wine tasting and guided tour.

The trip includes all accommodation for three nights, breakfast and evening meals, welcome wine gift in room on arrival, tee gifts of polo shirts and towel, tournament entry and green fees, prizes, trolleys, golf lessons for companions and various wines from the region throughout the stay.
