Destination Dubai for Golf Care Winners

Regional qualifiers from the Golf Care Matchplay Championship will compete in Dubai

Els Fairway

Forty British golfers are celebrating their place in the Dubai Grand Final of the UK's biggest amateur event, the Golf Care Matchplay Championship.

After progressing through a gruelling number of qualifying rounds, the successful participants will now enjoy the life of a Tour pro for a week, staying in the luxurious five-star JW Marriott Marquis Dubai hotel and competing at the world-renowned Els Club.

The final, which takes place next month, features qualifiers from the men's pairs, mixed pairs and men's singles events.

Each participant paid only £30 to enter and is now rewarded with the trip of a lifetime as they look to claim top honours in this prestigious event, and Sky Sports cameras will be there to capture all the action.

John Woosey, Tournament Director, said: "In what is the tenth anniversary of the Golf Care Matchplay Championship we are delighted to report yet another year of record entries, as golfers of all abilities and ages have turned out in numbers to earn a once-in-a-lifetime place at the Grand Final at the Els Club in Dubai."

The event is open to men with handicaps of 28 or lower and women 36 and lower, with the event based on handicap rather than scratch competition.
