Strong field assembles for English Girls' Championship
A strong field, including Curtis Cup star Bronte Law, will contest the English Girls' Championship from 31 July - 2 August at the Sandiway Golf Club in Cheshire
Curtis Cup star Bronte Law will be one of the favourites for the English Girls' Championship, staged next week at the Sandiway Golf Club in her home country of Cheshire.
The championship - running from Tuesday 31 July to Thursday 2 August - has attracted a full field of 120 competitors.
Two other events - the English U13 and U15 Girls' Championships - will take place simultaneously at the Delamere Forest Golf Club, meaning almost 250 of English golf's finest female prospects will head to Cheshire as they seek one of three national titles.
Law, 17, is enjoying a great season, helping Great Britain and Ireland win the Curtis Cup for the first time in 16 years at Scotland's Nairn Golf Club in June.
She will be full of confidence after victory at the Northern Ladies' Championship and a runner-up finish at the French Lady Junior Championship.
Another contender will be Elizabeth Mallett, 17, who won in 2010. She has just become the Midlands South Regional Women's Champion and also won this season's Whittington Trophy, recording a course record along the way.
Irish Stroke Play champion Emily Taylor is another force to be reckoned with, as well as Gabriella Cowley, who recently finished third at the R&A Junior Open against an international field of more than 120 players.
