The United States eased to a 22-2 win over Europe in the Junior Ryder Cup at The Club at Olde Stone, Bowling Green, Kentucky.

The USA won the opening day foursomes and fourballs 10½-1½ and went on to take 11½ points from the 12 singles. Only Scotland’s Carly Booth managed to score for Europe in the singles after she holed a downhill 10ft putt on the last to save par and halve her match.

England girl international Kelly Tidy, 16, was beaten on the last hole in the singles. The Royal Birkdale player was one of five GB& I golfers in the European team.
