Steven Reid has picked up the award for best golf book in association with St Andrews at the British Sports Book Awards on May 22nd.
His book Bobby's Open: Mr Jones and the Golf Shot that Defined a Legend received rave reviews since its release in June 2012 and was selected ahead of five other books including, Out Of Bounds by Sam Torrence and An Open Mind by Darren Clarke.
The ceremony was held at Lord's Cricket Ground in London and is a celebration of the very best in sports writing.
After what has been a seminal year for British sport, every category was filled with stellar nominees.
Other winners included Seven Deadly Sins by David Walsh for best autobiography/biograpy, Barca: The Making of the Greatest Team in the World by Graham Hunter for best football book and On Warne by Gideon Haigh for best cricket book.
They will now all join Steven Reid's biopic as candidates for the Times Sports Book of the Year, which is decided by an online public vote that runs till 7th June.
Henry Lord, Corinthian's Publicity manager was understandably delighted and felt the night was just rewards for one of the greatest golfers ever to grace the game.
