Adams has added two new fairways and a hybrid to the Tight Lies family, with the trio all featuring a new Ghost Slot in the crown

As much success as the Adams Tight Lies fairway enjoyed on its return last year, for some, the unusual look of a slot on the crown was reason enough to ignore it.

To counter this, Adams set about refining its design, and the result is new Ghost Slot Technology, which features in all three of the new clubs.

“Our goal with the new Tight Lies was to create a clean look at address that would appeal to more golfers, while at the same time, improving the performance,” Justin Honea, senior director of R&D at Adams, told GM.

The answer was a new Ghost Slot, a crown slot that is nearly invisible. The Tight Lies also features a refined “barbell” cut-thru slot that reduces stress on the face, while creating even faster ball speeds and a higher launch than previous versions.

Away from this change, the new Tight Lies benefits from many of the same design elements as it predecessor, including an upside down head shape and tri-sole that makes it very versatile.

The fairway (£149) will also be joined by a Tight Lies hybrid (£129), which features the same Ghost Slot Technology and upside down, low-profile design that creates a lower centre of gravity (CG) to encourage a high, forgiving flight from a variety of lies.

There is also a new Tight Lies Titanium fairway (£199), which introduces a Titanium face and crown with a stainless steel sole to create the lowest CG ever in an Adams fairway wood.  This construction reaches the USGA limit on spring-like effect to offer both playability and more explosive distance.
