Jason Day's USPGA winning clubs

Day used TaylorMade clubs to fire his way to victory

Day used TaylorMade clubs to secure his first major championship.

Jason Day ended one of the longest-running storylines in golf when he won the USPGA Championship at Whistling Straits on Sunday.

The Australian's US Open hopes had been foiled by vertigo at Chambers Bay and he was just one shot short at St Andrews.

It seemed that, as far as majors were concerned, everything that could go wrong had gone wrong. However, his performance in Wisconsin was a different story altogether, as he put together four commanding rounds with his TaylorMade equipment to win his first significant title.

So, what exactly was in that winning bag of Day's?

The ball that rolled the best part of 50 ft on the seventh to score him a two in the final round was the  Preferred X golf ball.

He guided that shot and many others on the green in to the hole with perfection thanks to the Ghost Spider IB putter.

From the tee, Day used the 10.5° R15 driver to help him hit 76.4 greens in regulation on the Straits course, second only to Justin Rose.

Day used Tour Preferred EF Wedges (47°, 52° and 60°) to help him reach the green, where he drained 60 of the 62 putts he had inside of 10 ft over the course of the four rounds.

He called upon RSi TP irons, 3-PW with True Temper Dynamic Golf x7 shafts to enable him to get to an impressive score of -20 and win that previously elusive title.
