With over 1 million golfers’ handicaps managed in the system, HowDidiDo is the largest online golf network in Europe, possibly in the world. Initially launched 6 years ago by Club Systems International as a means for golfers to access their handicap details, tournament and match updates away from the golf club, the website has grown organically to a user base of around 100,000 active users. In its 26 year history Club Systems have installed their golf club handicapping software in well over 2000 golf clubs throughout the UK and Ireland, over 1500 of whom are now using the HowDidiDo service

The release of the newly updated and vastly improved website has been preceded by a beta release, tested by over 25,000 golf club members. The new site offers the golfer greater remote flexibility and accessibility to the information they want, when they want it.

Detail

Club Systems International has been working over the last few months to develop HowDidiDo to make it easier to access and organise. It has gone through a complete rewrite resulting in a cleaner and more intuitive site and is now available on both PC and Mac, across all of the most popular web browsers, expelling one of its earliest criticisms for only being accessible on a PC, and only then by using Internet Explorer.

Golfers can now sign up to this free service and get up to date information on the competitions played at their club, their handicap certificate, competition bookings, access to club and public discussion forums and email notification of handicap changes and competition results.

The beta was released to a select group of HowDidiDo’s existing users, and early feedback speaks for itself:

Jill Johnston a 20 handicap golfer from Nairn Golf Club in Moray, Scotland said the new site “was Miles Beta”

Alf Sheppard plays off 9 and is from Polmont Golf Club in Sterling, he commented “This site is great, gives you instant competition results by email and text message as they are posted by your club. A must for the serious Club Golfer.”

Gary Douglas has a handicap of 14 and is a member of Willingdon Golf Club near Eastbourne “An Excellent site giving instant access to competition results, handicap changes, Interesting & sometimes controversial discussion in the new forums.”

Richard Peabody, operations director of Club Systems International is rightly very proud of the service “a team of programmers and designers have worked tirelessly to create what we honestly believe is now the premium site in golf. No flashing banner adverts, just easy to access content on your desktop, much of which you can choose to have sent directly to your mobile phone”

“Over the coming months, new services will be added to HowDidiDo that will further enhance the golfers’ ability to manage more aspects of their game online” Richard added. “The database stores over 10 million rounds of golf giving easy access to incredibly accurate statistics. Where else can golfers find out that 31.58% of all rounds recorded are Double Bogies or worse, or that UK & Irish amateur golfers play 38.25% of greens in regulation?”
