One lucky person won a round of golf with former Spurs and England international Gary Lineker at Queenwood Golf Club in Surrey recently.

Mike Anderson from Marple, Cheshire was the fortunate winner of the Walkers Crisps Competition as part of ‘Gary's Great Trips'.

Mike was thrilled to be in Lineker's company for the day. "It is one of those things you never really expect to happen - a once in a lifetime experience," Mike said.

Together with his two friends, Chris Lee and Steven Roberts, they played 18 holes of golf with Lineker around the Surrey course.

"I had never really heard of Queenwood before but it was a true privilege to play, particularly the greens," Mike said.

When asked if it was intimidating to play with Lineker, Mike replied: "Not at all. He made everyone feel welcome and relaxed. We had many laughs about our golf!"

"I have great respect for Gary as I grew up with him as England's number one striker," Mike added.

The day got even better for Mike when he managed to beat Gary at the last. "Beating Gary was the icing on the cake although I think his lack of golf over the last couple of months played a part.

"It was a great day. I would like to thank the Queenwood staff, caddies and bar staff for providing a first-class service."
