When The Gleneagles Hotel first opened its doors to high society in 1924 it was described as ‘A Riviera in the Highlands’ and a playground dedicated to leisure and relaxation. Now, 90 years on, it remains a haven of British luxury that offers a five star experience.

To celebrate its 90th anniversary the hotel has had its staff dress up in clothes from the era to channel the glamour of the 1920s (pictured above), when Gleneagles first opened its doors to high society on the 6th of June 1924.

The anniversary will also be marked by a series of deals at the hotel, which is also home to three championship golf courses (including this year’s Ryder Cup course) and Scotland’s only two Michelin star restaurant.

One such deal is based around learning to blend the perfect Scottish whiskey while staying at the hotel (from £345 per room), while a luxury visit  staying in The Royal Lochnagar suite will see you enjoy canapés and the 90th anniversary signature cocktail on arrival, dinner in The Strathearn restaurant, complimentary private chauffeur drive transfers from Edinburgh or Glasgow and a legendary Gleneagles breakfast (from £1,924 per night).
