The British Captains’ Tournament heads for Portugal

Golf club captains, vice-captains and past captains – men and women – are invited to compete in The British Captains’ Tournament, which could take winners and their fellow club members on a luxury trip to Portugal.

Golf club captains, vice-captains and past captains – men and women – are invited to compete in The British Captains’ Tournament, which could take winners and their fellow club members on a luxury trip to Portugal.

The British Captains’ Tournament proved a big success in its inaugural season and with the attraction of more exciting backing is set to be even better this year.

Each competing captain has free entry to the regional stage and each member of the team pays £60 to take part, including drinks on arrival, 18 holes of golf, and lunch on completion of their round.

There are separate competitions for men and women. The winning teams get return flights to Faro in December with Monarch Airlines, transfers, accommodation (bed and breakfast) at the 5-star Vila Sol Renaissance Spa & Golf Resort, where they will enjoy three rounds of golf on the Vila Sol championship course and a prize presentation dinner.

The format for the qualifiers is the team captains' score counts on each hole along with the best score of his or her other three team members. Qualifiers are at Marriott Hotels -Dalmahoy, Edinburgh on September 14, Worsley Park, Manchester on September 16, Hollins Hall, Bradford on September 18, Breadsall Priory, Derby September 21, St.Pierre, Chepstow on September 25, and at Meon Valley in Hampshire on September 29. The Grand Final will be played at Vila Sol on December 10-14.
