The Golf Foundation's new Junior Golf Passport, endorsed by the Professional Golfers' Association, is to be officially launched at ‘The Golf Show' in Harrogate.

During ‘The Golf Show', organised by the PGA, Foremost Golf and TGI Golf Partnership, the foundation will present the Junior Golf Passport to PGA professionals.

Over 6,000 PGA members qualified to attend the event, which takes place October 8-10.

The passport scheme is also supported by a new interactive website designed to appeal to young people, while offering PGA professionals a significant coaching and business resource.

The Golf Foundation expects it to help retain more youngsters in golf clubs and encourage the participation of children who have been introduced to the game through school and community projects.

During the show, PGA professionals can sign up to the scheme.

Those who register on the programme in October can take advantage of an introductory special offer of £75 for the year.

From November onwards, the cost will be £100 for the year.

The Golf Foundation worked closely with the PGA in developing the passport. Mike Round, Chief Executive of the Golf Foundation, said:

"As we are launching an initiative that can be beneficial to PGA professionals, who are at the heart of their club's coaching programme, we were delighted to be invited by The Golf Show organising team to present the new Junior Golf Passport."

"We have been delighted with the feedback from PGA professionals. We believe this will inspire young people and their families to engage with golf while offering the professionals a powerful new coaching resource and income stream."

Professionals can register for the Junior Golf Passport from October 1 at www.juniorgolfpassport.org
