Tudor Park: Dawn Until Dusk Challenge

Tudor Park hosts a dawn to dusk golfing challenge, undertaken by Greg Owen and Fraser Liston.

Greg Owen and Fraser Liston were up early as they prepared to attempt a dawn to dusk golfing challenge on Thursday 20th June. The location was Tudor Park, a Marriott Hotel and Country club, situated in Bearsted, near Maidstone.

Starting at 4am, the pair played the 18-hole championship course non-stop - except for the occasional comfort break - until 9pm, each carrying their own set of golf clubs.

Although the day wasn't quite the longest of the year, it certainly felt like it for Greg, who is Tudor Park's golf operations supervisor, and Fraser, the hotel's director of golf. The pair were kept going by their colleagues, who kindly supplied them with food, drink and energy bars.

"The hardest part was trying to keep the concentration levels up. By the end of the day, we could barely hit the ball," said Greg

Despite feeling exhausted at the end of the 17-hour shift, the pair were thrilled to learn the had managed to raise over £1,000 for the local branch of Parkinson's UK, Tudor Park's chosen charity of the year

To add to this, the duo established a new record for the hotel's golf club - the longest game ever played. Playing better-ball, Greg and Fraser scored 68,67,74,67,68 (-6 for 5 rounds), with 16 birdies between them.
