Variety Club 54-hole Golf Challenge in June
Variety Club will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a 54 hole Golf Challenge marathon for charity on 20th June 2011
This year the Variety Club in Yorkshire is staging a 54-hole fundraising golf marathon on the 20 June, 2011 to celebrate its 50th Anniversary.
The Variety Club helps disabled and disadvantaged children throughout the world and has raised over £200 million in the last six decades, improving the lives of more than a million children and young people. The Variety Club has its own Golf Society that has
successfully raised many thousands of pounds for these disadvantaged children.
The event will be held over three of the top courses in Leeds - Moortown, Alwoodley and Moor Allerton where teams must complete a marathon 54 holes within 12 hours.
In recognition of being the Variety Club's 50th anniversary the competition will be based on the scores over the best 50 holes of the 54 played.
The entry fee for the marathon is £100 including 54 holes of golf, dinner and a prize presentation, with each entrant expected to raise a minimum of £300 in sponsorship.
