Whitefield Golf Club, in Northwest Manchester, will be hosting an open competition over the weekend of August 21/22.
Teams of two are invited to enter the tournament at a cost of £50 per player, including refreshments.
The mature parkland course is one of the most challenging in the region, and is renowned for the quality and majesty of its long par 3s.
Peerless putting surfaces and subtly contoured, tree-lined fairways make Whitefield – easily accessible from junction 17 of the M60 – an outstanding and thoroughly enjoyable test of golf.
The first day of the competition, Saturday, will see teams compete in a better ball stableford format.
The winning pair will win two rounds of golf at the San Roque resort on Spain’s southern coast, with flights and accommodation included.
There will also be another 18 prizes on offer. Apart from those for the ‘longest drive’ and five ‘nearest the pin’ competitions, there will be 12 others – including a Ping putter and Ping driver – to be won by way of a raffle.
The top ten qualifying teams from the first round will be invited to play a singles stableford on the Sunday.
The winner’s prize will be £1000 of golf shop vouchers, with £500 for second place and £250 for third.
For an entry form, please phone the club secretary, Margaret Rothwell, on 0161 351 2702, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
