AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open Golf Betting Tips

This week the European Tour along with Asian and Sunshine Tours are in beautiful Mauritius for the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open being played at the Heritage Golf Course in Domaine de Bel Ombre.

Now this doesn’t happen often but I have actually played this course, so I would hope to have some insider knowledge… although it was some 6 years ago.

From my memory the location is stunning, with the course nestling on a slope above the ocean. However I don’t feel that this should be a particularly tough test for the professionals – unless the coastal position means strong winds.

The favourite for this tournament is the South African George Coetzee at 10/1 having traveled over from San Francisco last Friday. He is in superb form with two top 5 finishes in his last strokeplay events, including his win at the Tshwane Open. However this was a few months back now so I am going to stay clear of him.

The course has held no major events in the past, so I will be following my nose on this one, looking for players who I know can score heavily when required.

As ever the £10 betting challenge with our bloggers DownThe18th continues – results so far are at the bottom of this post and for details from last week check out their blog.

AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open Golf Betting Tips Advised Bets

Scott Hend £2.50 each way at 25/1 with Coral – The Australian has been prolific on the Asian Tour and I fancy him to do well again this week. On the European Tour itself he is 39th on The Race to Dubai with his best finish a Tied 2nd in Thailand.

Richard T Lee £1 each way at 50/1 with Bet Victor – Not a name that will be hugely well know, Lee has had two top five finishes on the European Tour in Thailand and Malaysia and think his odds may be a touch long here.

Justin Walters £1 each way at 66/1 with Betway The South African is having a decent season without every being overly spectacular. His usually excellent GIR stats (70%) should come in handy here.

Alessandro Tadini £0.50 each way at 125/1 – Had a decent performance on the Challenge Tour last week and could take the form into this. Still looking to build on a Top 5 finish in South Africa in January at The South African Open.
