Andrade marks Titleist Pro V1 anniversary with special win

Fifteen years on from becoming the first player to win with the Titleist Pro V1, Billy Andrade claims the 2,390th victory to headline a six-win weekend for the #1 ball in golf

Fifteen years after becoming the first player to ever win with the Titleist Pro V1 at the 2000 Invensys Classic at Las Vegas, Titleist golf ball loyalist Billy Andrade once again trusted the #1 ball in golf to capture the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship on the Champions Tour to mark a significant milestone for Titleist.

It was the 2,390th victory for the legendary Pro V1 franchise across worldwide professional tours in a prolific 15 year history, and headlined five further wins for Titleist golf ball loyalists this weekend.

Andrade closed with a final round 64 en route to a 14-under par, 266 leading total, to join fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist Bernard Langer in an all-Pro V1 playoff. Andrade ultimately went on to claim his third Champions Tour title of the season with a birdie at the first extra hole. In the 15 years since Andrade claimed the first win with the legendary Pro V1 franchise, over 300,000 players have teed up a Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball in competition across worldwide professional tours.

On the PGA Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador Peter Malnati trusted Titleist equipment from tee-to-green to claim his maiden PGA Tour title at the Sanderson Farms Championship. Following a rain-soaked weekend, Malnati carded five birdies in the final 12 holes of the Monday finish to win by one stroke ahead of two players.

As well as being the choice of the champion at the event, Titleist was also the overwhelming choice for the majority of the field with 87 of the 131 players trusting a Titleist golf ball, more than five times the nearest competitor with 16. Titleist also led the field in the iron (34), wedge (159) and putter (52) categories.

A momentous victory for Titleist golf ball loyalist Billy Andrade, 15 years on from becoming the first player to win with the legendary Pro V1 franchise, coupled with five further victories for Titleist golf ball loyalists across worldwide professional tours, continues to prove that the world’s best players trust the superior performance of Titleist for their success.
