BBC announces 2007 schedule

The US Masters from Augusta National will be the first of seven live tournaments shown on BBC TV next year, as it continues its traditional association with the season's first Major and also the Open Championship - to be held in 2007 at Carnoustie in Scotland.

A selection of 2007?s biggest golf tournaments will be featured live by the BBC on TV, radio, interactive and online.

Action from arguably the two biggest tournaments in the world, the Masters from Augusta and the 136th Open Championship from Carnoustie, will be broadcast live, and the BBC will also be showing some of the premier events from the European Tour ? the Scottish Open from Loch Lomond and the HSBC World Match Play and the British PGA Championship, both of which take place at Wentworth.

All of the BBC?s live events will also be available on their digital interactive service, which gives viewers the option of following different golfers around the course. Internet users will also be able to watch live action and highlights via their website.

Radio Five Live will also have live commentary throughout the season on all the Majors and several other high profile tournaments.
