Be a Masters charity champion

Enter Essex's Little Havens Masters and raise cash for the county's children's hospice at the same time

You may not win a Green Jacket but here?s your chance to become the next "Masters" champion ? and raise cash for the Little Havens children?s hospice in Essex at the same time.

The Little Havens Masters runs from April 2007 to March 2008 and members of clubs affiliated to the Essex Golf Union can pay a one-off entry fee of £25 to enter. The organisers, who are hoping to attract a field of 150 competitors, say playing in the event is straightforward ? you simply wait to hear who you?ve drawn, arrange your match and phone in the result. Winners will then be informed who they have to play next. As a bonus many clubs in the county have agreed to waive the green fees of ?away? players.

Each person who enters the tournament will also be placed into a draw to win final-day tickets for the 2007 BMW Championship at Wentworth.

Little Havens cares for life-limited children and their families throughout the county. It costs £1.6 million each year to keep open with 81p in every pound needed coming from charitable donations.

All players for the Little Havens Masters must be a member of a club affiliated to the Essex Golf Union, have a handicap of 18 or lower and be 18 years or over at the start of the tournament. The deadline for entries is April 15 2007. To find out more please telephone Judy on 01702 220 324 or e-mail www.jgrocott@havenshospices.org.uk
