Clark wins by three at Faithlegg
After the third event on the Europro Tour the order of merit is heating up. Clark jumps to the top after a big win in Ireland.
England?s Graeme Clark tops the Order Of Merit with a win at last weeks PGA Europro Tour event, collecting £12,000, the largest sum for tournaments in the main campaign, in the process.
He put together three solid rounds of 67, 66, and 70 to finish at 13-under par. His consisting scoring saw him placed inside the top 3 for each day of the competition, which was held at Faithlegg House GC in Ireland.
It was 22-year old Mark Laskey who led after the first round but a poor one-over par second round saw him loose his lead, in what is becoming an unfortunate habit. In the last event on the tour a second round 80 cost him the tournament. This time though he fought back with a 67 final round that included an eagle at the 10th to finish in second place.
Jason Kelly of Wentworth was a further shot back to finish 3rd. The highest placed Irishman was Colm Moriarty who was tied fourth. Brian McElhinney, winner of the previous event, had a disappointing week on home soil finishing in tied 48th.
The 4th event of the tour will be played at the Macdonald Cardrona Hotel GC in Scotland.
