The English Golf Union (EGU) has announced that it has extended its sponsorship deal with Titleist and Footjoy for a further two years.

The agreement between the EGU and the golfing manufacturers will see the national squads wear Titleist and FootJoy during their time on international duty. The players will don FootJoy classics or DryJoys Golf shoes, DryJoys performance rainsuits with Titleist headwear, while using Titleist stand or carry bags whenever they represent their country.

The deal covers all the men?s, youth?s, boy?s and senior?s, squads until the end of 2008, coaching staff and managers will also wear FootJoy shoes and rainwear. Another part of the agreement stipulates that Titleist will supply practice balls for the National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire and the EGU Championships team.

The agreement appears to have delighted both sides and John Peal, Director of Marketing for Titleist and FootJoy, said: ?We have had a tremendously successful partnership with the EGU for a number of years and we are delighted to extend this. The quality of the top amateur?s game has improved beyond belief in recent years both through the player?s dedication and also the outstanding efforts of the EGU in developing talents for the professional world stage.?

Meanwhile, EGU Marketing and Public Relations Manager Lynne Fraser added: ?The support of Titleist and FootJoy is very much appreciated by both the EGU as a whole and the squads. Our aim is to ensure that our players? successes both nationally and internationally will continue to mirror the values and quality of these two high profile brands.?
