Golf Monthly's week that was

Golf Monthly reviews a busy seven days both inside and outside the office, including Tiger Woods back to winning ways and a look to the first Major of the season, the Masters

King Cobra SZ irons

The office has been going through the gears over the last seven days, with the Masters fast approaching (Six days away!) excitement is really boiling up.

The new Masters microsite on the website has all the latest news from the event, and from this Sunday onwards look out for Assistant Editor Alex Narey’s daily updates and blogs as he gives an insight into the competition from the Augusta National itself.

If you are not feeling the Masters fever that is sweeping the Golf Monthly office, then our Masters microsite has some great stats, stories and blogs to really get your teeth into.

Such as Nick Faldo’s 1989 win, a Q&A with 2008 Masters winner Trevor Immelman, Bill Elliott’s Top 10 US Masters moments and a hole-by-hole tour of the Augusta National course itself. A few minutes with this will really get your Masters juices flowing.

Equipment wise this week we have had a review of the Cobra SZ Irons, the Titleist 909H utility as well as the super stylish Callaway Chev LP golf shoes. Plus, there are plenty more reviews, galleries and reader blogs to browse through if you are on the verge of purchasing a new piece of gear.

As I type, several Forum members are taking each other on as well as a few of the GM office staff at Royal Ascot golf course, be sure to check the Forum  for updates and those bragging and commiserating and much more on other subjects too.

Nothing major happened on Tour this week… Oh except for Tiger Woods winning his first tournament since his return from injury at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, while Soren Kjeldsen won at the Open de Andalucia.

Congratulations to our betting tipster Paul Krishnamurty who picked both Tour winners last week, he will hope to do just as well at Estoril Open de Portugal and Shell Houston Open this week.

Do check out our weekly quiz and our other competitions for a chance to win some great prizes.
