Golf tips of the week: Hitting it straight tips
Our golf tips of the week are taken from Top 25 Coach Andrew Jones who demonstrates how six everyday household items can transform your game.
Golf tip 6. Ruler drill
To hit straight shots, you need to get the club in a good position at the top of the backswing. If your wrists bend unnecessarily here, you’ll find it hard to square the face through impact. Place a ruler down the back of your left wrist (use your watch to keep it in place). Now swing slowly to the top of your backswing. The ruler will act as a splint, keeping your wrists locked into a solid position. This simple drill will help you keep the club in a strong position at the top.
