Montgomerie Maxx Royal to host 2013 Turkish Open
The 2013 Turkish Open will be held for the first time at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal in Belek
This year's Turkish Open at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal in Belek, Turkey, is set to be a week of many firsts. Not only will the tournament be the first European Tour event to be held in Turkey, it will also be one of four tournaments that make up the inaugural Final Series of the European Tour's Race to Dubai.
Furthermore, the Turkish Open will be the first ever professional golf event to be hosted at the award-winning Mongomerie Maxx Royal Golf Club in Belek, on the Mediterranean Coastline.
The par-72 championship course, designed by Montgomerie, will welcome the leading golfers from the Race to Dubai from November 7-10, all battling for the sixty places available at the Dubai World Championship.
Colin Montgomerie, course architect, said: "It's exciting to think that the European Tour now has Turkey on the roster and I am incredibly proud that one of my finest creations has been chosen to stage what will be a landmark occasion for Turkish golf."
Mehmet Ersoy, Chairman of Maxx Royal Golf & Spa, added: "The Turkish Open represents a great opportunity for us to welcome some of the world's finest golfers as well as golf fans from across Europe and showcase the magnificent facility that we have created here."
