Sweden’s Alex Noren won the Nordea Masters title for the second time after a final round of 71 at PGA Sweden National in Malmo. He finished four clear of Denmark’s Soren Kjdeldsen.

The 31-year-old started Sunday’s round with a birdie four at the first, but a bogey at the second meant his lead was reduced to just one stroke.

But, in breezy conditions, the Swede who won this event back in 2011 reeled off 15 consecutive pars then a closing birdie to win with something to spare.

The Swede began the 2015 European Tour on a medical exemption but has enjoyed a great return to form. He has made the cut in all 12 tournaments he’s competed in this season. This victory will see him exempt on the circuit to the end of 2017.

“It was tough but I just want to relax now, it’s very pleasing,” said the Swede. “I holed a good putt on 17 to keep things going with a par but it was hard all the way round. It’s been a long way back after the injury but this now feels very nice.”

Soren Kjeldsen, who won last week’s Irish Open, continued his good run. He fired a closing 71 to finish alone in second place.

Alex Levy of France also carded a 71 to end the week in a tie for third place with home player Jens Danthorp and Germany’s Max Kieffer, who finished with 74 and 75 respectively.

Top British finisher was England’s Tom Murray. He carded a closing 71 to finish in a tie for seventh place.
