Open de España golf betting guide

Despite a few weeks out in the Far East, the field that lines up at the Open de España is pretty strong. Post Masters most tournaments suffer a little bit in terms of strong line ups as some decide to take a break before the season cranks up a notch.

That said, the Open de España is always one to watch as the European Tour returns to mainland Europe and it's The Players Championship next week so there's a lot to look forward to. The betting is pretty much wide open, but we've cut our shortlist down to three.

The standout player for us is June issue's cover star Miguel Ángel Jiménez. The Spaniard relishes playing in front of his fans on home soil and it was good to see him in decent touch last week at the Ballantine's Championship, where he finished in a tie for fifth. Ladbrokes' 20/1 seems a really good price for a man who shows no signs of losing that competitive edge.

Our second pick is also no surprise. Rafa Cabrera-Bello also looks in decent form and odds of 33/1 are very appealing. We're confident that he can make the places again for us this week after some decent performances in recent weeks. He's not quite got the job done for us but we're giving him one last chance on home soil where we're hoping he turns it on for the galleries alongside Jiménez.

The final man to make our betting slip is Tom Lewis. The young Englishman has played a bit in America and was out in China recently, which is all good experience for this bright talent. Being back in Europe may be a good thing for him and at 66/1 he's our outsider to get in the mix.
