Paul Casey wins the KLM Open

Paul Casey won his first European Tour title of the season, beating fellow Englishman Simon Dyson by one stroke
Paul Casey won his first European Tour title of the season when he shot a final round of 66 to win the KLM Open at Kennemer G&CC.
The win was Casey’s 13th on the European Tour and was one of his most remarkable as he was 8 strokes adrift after two rounds.
However a remarkable round of 62 on Saturday put him in position for a Sunday charge and his round of 66 on Sunday meant he was clear of second placed Simon Dyson by a single shot.
Overnight leadrr going into the final round was Frenchman Romain Wattel, but he slipped to a final round of 74 to drop down the leaderboard.
“This tournament has been going for more than 90 years and looking at the names on the trophy, you have Seve, Langer, Payne Stewart. It’s got some great names so to add my name to that is a great honour. “Just having my first child was a great distraction. I had no expectations coming into the week and I did very little pratice, although I’ve played good golf.”
Casey’s win was not the only big story of the day as Golf Monthly columnist Andy Sullivan had a hole-in-one on the 15th, a fgeat which meant he won a trip to Space!

I’m not sure if I’ll go, I’ll check with the missus. I’m not great with heights or flying! I might have to pluck up some coverage”
