Paul McGinley to lead Seve Ballesteros tributes
Irishman will lead the tributes to Seve Ballesteros at a Viva La Vida celebration and fundraiser evening taking place in London in December
Paul McGinley will lead a star-studded event in aid of the Seve Ballesteros Foundation in partnership with Cancer Research UK.
The annual event, 'Viva La Vida', will be held in December at the Natural History Museum in London and will help raise vital funds for brain cancer research.
Viva La Vida will be a celebration and commemoration of Seve and the legacy he left behind. There will be unseen footage of Seve played throughout the evening and some of his closest friends will provide moving insights into his life and career.
Paul McGinley, who was a team mate of Seve's for 15 years and is an ambassador for Viva La Vida said: "Seve was an inspirational man both on and off the golf course.
"I am truly honoured to be an ambassador for his official tribute event. He more than anybody was responsible for bringing me to the game. I remember fondly my days at the Irish Open as a kid where to me Seve was the only attraction."
Reflecting further McGinley said: "I'll always remember Seve for his compassion, personality and dedication and am looking forward to honouring and celebrating his unforgettable career and life through this fantastic event."
The Seve Ballesteros Foundation was set up in 2009 and has already raised over £1.5m towards ambitious and vital research.
