TP Tour Series update

Results and summaries of the last three events of the TP Tour Series staged at North Hants, Knole Park and Walton Heath

The TP Tour Series has crowned three winners thus far in October at some of the finest golf courses across the country.

The first tournament of the the month took place on October 8 at North Hants Golf Club, a former Open qualifying venue and home of current world number five Justin Rose.

Despite torrential downpours the night before, the tournament went ahead, and four players were tied for the lead after rounds of 68.

Order of Merit leader Richard Prophet and Tom Aspital were eliminated at the first and third holes respectively, with Oliver Turnhill and David Griffiths needing seven holes to separate them. Turnhill, of Golf at Goodwood, eventually prevailed.

Next stop on the TP Tour was Knole Park Golf Club in Kent on October 15, where Challenge Tour player Jason Barnes beat his own course record to win by two shots from European Tour member Daniel Gaunt.

The Australian shot a 66, with England's Lee James and Gary King coming in third and fourth respectively.

The latest TP Tour event was staged last week (October 18) at Walton Heath Golf Club, one of the most renowned golf courses in England.

The course played extremely long after a torrential downpour overnight, but 24 players in the 55-man field managed to shoot scores of level par of better.

Simon Lilly and England junior golfer Pavan Sagoo played some fine golf to card rounds of 68, but victory was snatched by Charlie Cossins of Bath Golf Club, who birdied five of his last six holes to shoot 67 and record his second TP Tour Series victory.
