Retief Goosen

The Copperhead Course is no pushover and just like Augusta National takes care of a large number of the field before they've even teed up, this Florida beast will also prove too tough a course for a good few players.

On that basis, taking a look at last year's results serves as a good guide. Jim Furyk, K.J Choi, Bubba Watson, Nick Watney and Retief Goosen were the top five in 2010 and they're all back for another crack this year, with Furyk attempting to defend his title. That looks unlikely given his current form.

Nick Watney and Martin Kaymer share favouritism at 10/1 which is probably fair. From there we jump to 25/1 for a host of players, including Padraig Harrington and Vijay Singh. Both players have shown signs of improvement in the lead up to the first Major of the season, particularly the former who just seems to throw things away with the odd horror hole. That could prove costly at Copperhead so we're looking for consistency and above all, accuracy.

That takes Bubba Watson out of the equation as well. We're put off by his recent injury as well and we've narrowed it down to two names that we're excited about this week.

Our 'smart' bet is with Goosen who finished fifth here last year. He may be another player searching for form, but 25/1 is appealing.

Stephen Ames has good form in this part of the world and can be backed at 50/1. Tied sixth last year was encouraging. The risk we're taking is backing a man not in the best of form but we all know how quickly that can change, especially at a time of the year when players are thinking about Augusta.
