Verizon Heritage preview
Harbour Town provides a short but challenging test on the PGA Tour this week where Davis Love III has an outstanding record.
TOURNAMENT: Verizon Heritage
HOST COURSE: Harbour Town Golf Links
PRIZE FUND: $5,400,000
COURSE DETAILS: Par 71, 6973 yards. This Pete Dye design ranks among the top courses on the PGA Tour. Despite being relatively short the course offers a tough test and accuracy is key thanks to tight fairways and the smallest greens on Tour.
KEY HOLE: The 18th is a spectacular finishing hole where the lighthouse works as a perfect marker from the tee. It takes a brave man to take on the pin and many will choose to bail out right.
Five time champion Davis Love III always begins as a favorite at the stunning Harbour Town Golf Links. There is little time for celebration for the newly crowned Masters champion Zach Johnson as he also starts this week. Scotish amateur Richie Ramsay continues his American adventure with an appearance while the British challenge also includes Justin Rose and Greg Owen.
CONTENDERS: Davis Love III, Ernie Els, Geoff Ogilvy
