Yorkshire's Richmond GC is our Course of the Week

This is a tranquil haven that all golfers ought to put on their "must-play" list. Richmond GC is over 100-years-old and when you are strolling down the tree-lined fairways it seems like little has changed. For any golfers looking for a game this weekend it's well worth a visit.

Just 10 minutes off the A1, near the pretty town of Richmond in North Yorkshire, lies Richmond Golf Club. It's a fantastic layout and if you are in the area go, if not make the journey!

Course lowdown: The course isn?t long but it?s no pushover. Tight fairways, encroaching trees and five tricky par 3s make playing to handicap no mean feat. The toughest hole, the 15th ? 425 yards uphill, means anything to the right is a lost ball.

Stats: par 71, SSS 69, 6,073 yards

Green Fees: wd £25 round/day, we £30 round, £35 day, Monday £10 round

History: Founded in 1892. Bend Hagg has been the home of the club since 1904. The original nine holes were played twice until an 18-hole course was opened in 1972. Frank Pennink, helped shape and influence the development of the course design.
