Hole by Hole Guide - 11th
Thursday 5th July 2007
Name: Dyke
Par: 4
Championship Tee: 383 yards
Medal Tee: 362 yards
Colin Says: A good par 4 with some cunning bunkering. Some might have a go with driver but I'd expect the majority to play a 2-iron or 3-wood at the bunkers on the right. They'll then have a 7-iron or 8-iron into the two-tiered green. The putting surface is well protected by bunkers left and right, so a straight shot in is crucial.
Fergus Says: Into the prevailing wind, accuracy from the tee is the key to this hole so reach for your “go-to club”. The green is 44 yards long with all the trouble, in the form of pot bunkers, at the front. Aim to be a little long with your approach.
