On my previous blog I was about to play in a charity AM AM at Hessle Golf Club near Hull, I’m pleased to report my teammates and I finished a very respectable 2nd with 82 points, each collecting a nice pair of white Footjoy Aqualites, I’ll be saving them for the glorious summer we’re about to have!
I’m really fortunate to have Golf Monthly Top 25 Coach Steve Robinson assisting me with this challenge, he’s kindly offered to give up his time to coach me once a fortnight.
So far we’ve been doing some great short game work, also looking at my stance in regard to full shots as well as weight transfer and a full finish – giving me all important extra yards in the long game.
On the 6th of May it was Monthly Medal time again up at the KP Club, it was cold but fine and the course was playing surprisingly well considering Aprils washout.
It was once again a bit of medal madness for me, a combination of the sublime and the absolute ridiculous , a round which included a birdie on the stroke index 2, 12th hole, but also a 9 and an 8!
It all amounted to a respectable net 70, which somehow won me Division 3 on a back 9 count back.
This result has qualified me for an East Riding Golf Union event up at Filey Golf Club on June 16th, which I’m looking forward to.
Unfortunately I have to end this chapter of my blog on a disappointing note, I recorded my worst score of the season last Saturday with stinky 98 gross. Oh well even Rory has a bad round every now and then.
