Play Your Best golfers coached by Tom Lewis
Tom Lewis joins the four Play Your Best challengers to pass on some putting tips
As the competitive golf season dawned, Golf Monthly's Play Your Best challengers shifted their attention from the technicalities of the swing to the art of scoring. To help them in their quest to break their individual scoring barriers, Ping recruited the services of 2011 Portugal Masters Champion, Tom Lewis.
Tom Lewis announced himself to the world last summer by winning the Silver Medal as top amateur at The Open and secured his Tour card by winning his first professional event on just his third attempt. It was a meteoric rise, even for a player with such a strong reputation.
So, as the 21 year-old Englishman returned to London for the 2012 BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth he met up with the four play your best challengers - Peter O'Hagan, Paul Matthews, John Boag and Rob Edwards - to help them prepare for the competitive season ahead.
Tom offered a unique insight into the way in which he grooves his stroke ready for competition. He explained three key drills that lie at the heart of his preparation - training his stroke, his speed and crucially, his nerve.
