Dunlop NZ9 driver

The Dunlop NZ9 driver’s 460cc white driver head features Aeroskin technology, which helps the club move through the air for improved clubhead speed. The finish is anti-glare and combined with a black face, this should aid alignment. Dunlop’s Gecko-Tac grip is designed to provide a tacky feel, even in the wet.

Dunlop’s NZ9 driver will suit anyone after a modern-looking driver at a cheap price.

Dunlop is looking to move away from the complete budget area
of the market with the launch of the NZ9 range. The NZ9
driver is by far the best-looking driver Dunlop has produced. The flight is high compared to other 10° models and the slightly closed face will help those who fight a slice. The impact noise is very loud from all areas of the face. The Dunlop grip is quite soft – which will be liked by some and not by others – and works well in all conditions.

Verdict

At this price point the components are decent quality and work well together. The high flight and closed face will suit game-improvers. Only available in one loft. The impact noise is very loud. Not as long as premium models. PGA Pro Verdict This driver, with its white-headed forged titanium body, gave a reasonably good performance on test. Its launch was unexpectedly high, considering the way it sat at address (closed). This launch, however, may well have come from the shaft, which although was a Grafalloy, felt a little inconsistent. Visually it’s a pretty club, but it won’t compete with premium drivers. Golf Monthly Top 25 Coach John Jacobs
