Ping anser hybrid
Golf Monthly Verdict

GM verdict: Matte black is one of the best-looking finishes on the market. This is a hybrid that will appeal to all types of golfer, thanks to the balance of forgiveness and workability. The flight changes noticeably through the lofts, with a more penetrating flight in the stronger options. This means that if you carry two of these, you’ll have fantastic versatility. But... as with the Anser woods, the option to add or remove loft really helps you to fine-tune distance gapping through the top end of the bag. PGA pro verdict: One of the best rescues I’ve tested. Its striking design looked great behind the ball, and the highlighted top line helped alignment. It was easy to control the ball flight and yardages were very consistent, even on off-centre strikes. The Anser is great from the rough and those all-important long par 3s, which are made much easier to play with this product. Test Team Rating: Performance: 4.5/5 Visual appeal: 5/5 Innovation: 4/5 Value: 3.5/5 Overall: 4.5/5

Key technology:

The Ping Anser hybrid features a striking matte-black finish and a deeper head for added forgiveness. Thanks to a clever weighting design, the centre of gravity position varies depending on loft to produce the desired performance with each club. The lowest portion of the face has been made wider to improve

the strike and forgiveness.

Will suit: those who liked the finish of the i20, but were looking for added forgiveness.
